Peter John Bickel (born 1940) is an American statistician,〔http://orfe.princeton.edu/conferences/frontiers/Biography.pdf〕 Professor of Statistics in University of California, Berkeley,〔http://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~bickel/〕 who is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the National Academy of Sciences. He is past President of the Bernoulli Society and of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
